ARTIST BIO

Krishty Debangana is a Bangladeshi artist and visual storyteller, currently based in Athens, Ohio, pursuing her MFA in Graphic Design at Ohio University, where her work explores cultural iconography and the reconstruction of marginalized narratives. Her upcoming MFA thesis exhibition, Echoes of a Mockingbird (Trisolini Gallery, 2026), investigates how visual storytelling can reclaim and reshape suppressed histories. Debangana is also an educator and community-engaged designer, with teaching experience across drawing, animation, art foundations, and visual storytelling. A recipient of the I. Hollis Parry/Ann Parry Billman Fine Arts Graduate Award, she continues to exhibit across the U.S. and Bangladesh while contributing to collaborative design initiatives within Appalachian communities.
